An fun introductory session focusing on practical processing of raw nettles for cordage and fibre. We'll be harvesting, stripping and scraping nettles that we'll gather on Glebe Meadow, opposite Jubilee Hall. We'll talk through the retting process and then hand twist some nettle twine with what we've gathered, or using nettles that I have previously harvested. 
 
Nettles will always sting so please bring gloves and wear long sleeves to protect yourself if you'd like. If possible could you bring a chopping board, rolling pin and secateurs/loppers )you won't cut summer nettles with kitchen scissors!).
