Workshop held at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse Museum, Nr Dereham, Norfolk, NR20 4DR
A day long session introducing you to the wonderful world of green wood carving, making spoons and spatulas using a shave horse and a selection of different hand tools.
Follow the whole process from choosing and sawing your own log, then using an axe and mallet to split the wood, and then carving it into shape using a drawknife, hook knife, and a carving knife.
Although output for the day depends on the individual, there is time and scope to make several items in the workshop.
A relaxed and friendly session which is ideal for beginners or improvers.
This workshop will require some hand strength and is suitable for adults and accompanied teens 16+.
Please bring lunch and a mug. The workshop is held in an undercover space but please come dressed appropriately for the weather with sturdy footwear.
