Manx Loaghtan's are now back on the RBST's Priority list due to low numbers so its really great to be able to make roving, yarn and fabric from this specialist rare breed.

This 4 ply yarn is made from the 2025 clip from the Breedon girls who live in the Norfolk Broads as a small holder's flock although they were originally a conservation grazing flock in Leicestershire. Their owner has now retired to Norfolk, and I'm glad he's brought the ladies too!

It has typical Manx Loaghtan bounce it makes an interesting weaving yarn with lots of texture, and good lofty knitting yarn.

50g is about 235m, 4ply is 24 WPI

A cone is around 550g, excluding the weight of the cone. If you'd like a sample please select sample and the sample postage rate (large letter + postcard). Multiple yarn samples can be sent this way if you'd like to see more than one.

Will take natural dyes but baths made need to be stronger than with white yarns, and taking the natural warm tones into consideration.

You can buy yarn whatever increments you like in 10g incriments, just add multiples to the basket, they will be sent in a continuous length up to 100g.

Milled by Fiona at Shire Mill, an independent mini mill outside of Loughborough.
