Join us for our second SpoonStock!

 

After a successful first year we’re delighted to invite you to Spoonstock 2.0 – incorporating extra workshops and activities, making it into a full 3 day event.

 

Across the 3 days you’ll rotate through 4 different workshops – two different style spoon carving workshops with Nick from The Gosman Spoon Co. and Fay, The Woodland Haberdasher where you will get to try out a variety of carving techniques, tools and woods. Expect to make a wide and beautiful array of utensils and artistic pieces. Find a style to suit you, increase your tool confidence and don’t be afraid to experiment and let your imagination run wild.

 

In the third workshop, under the careful tuition of Clare from Wayside Pottery , you will be using a mix of commercial and wild clay to throw your own bowl or pot and hand build creations of your choice.
All your pieces will be fired and glazed, then posted out to you after the event (can’t rush good clay!), later in the summer.

 

The new workshop for this year – willow weaving with Adam and Emma of Willow Phoenix, where you’ll be able to make a berry basket and other woven delights under their careful tutoring.

The whole weekend is catered by Henrietta and Maisie of the Wakelyns Bakery , with the focus on local and organic produce. They will be serving you lunch and dinner on Friday, and two-course lunches on Saturday and Sunday. All food is provided for DIY breakfasts in the Outside Kitchen (cooked or continental) and there’ll be a BBQ on Saturday night. You’ll get to sample lots of organic farm produce (bread, grains, veggies, preserves and juice) as well as other local specialities like cheeses from Fen Farm Dairy.

 

Last year’s menu included 4 cheese lasagna with homemade pasta, buckwheat sponge cake, deep pan quiche, falafels, wild venison steaks, stuffed mushrooms and chocolate brownies.

 

 

2 nights camping is included in the ticket price, or you can upgrade to one of the farm’s glamping pods (each pod sleeps up to 4 people), direct booking here

 

On Friday you’ll be able to take a pleasant evening stroll with Paul, the farm’s arboriculturist, to learn more about the trees and agro-forestry system at Wakelyns or feel free to simply chill out and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

 

On Saturday evening join us in the farmyard for a BBQ, music, fire bowl and fun.

 

We are also looking to offer some other evening activities like a moth trap, screen printing and some live music but these are currently tbc – watch this space!

Your ticket includes all activites, workshop materials, catering and camping. This is an adult only event, no under 18’s.

Nearer the time we’ll send you out a ‘Further Information’ form (in the spring) so you can tell us about dietary requirements, musical preferences etc. and a ‘Final Information’ about your stay at the start of June.
