A lovely dye workshop at Waveney Valley Barn where we'll be able to gather dye stuffs from the small holding and meadow. We'll dye a range of yarn and samples as well as talk about methods, mordants and variables but I have especially timed it so we can use the magical dyestuff that is reed heads for a day-glo green/yellow. I'll also start you off with making your own acetate mordants to take home so you can continue your own dye explorations!

The aim is for 6 colours that you can have a skein in each ( size dependant on final workshop size, minimum 25 yards per person, per colour) plus a comparison of animal/vegetable fibre fabric and a little silk tester.

All materials and refreshments provided but please bring a packed lunch, secateurs and a basket/bag if you have them.

We will be outdoors with a fire for the dye pans but have use of a yurt/gazebo incase of inclement or hot weather. WC facilities available.
